WARNING: Images may be disturbing to some readers. An abandoned, malnourished dog named Khaleesi was near death when someone rescued her. She was so emaciated that her ribs protruded out of her body, and she couldn’t support her own weight. Her condition is very similar to the formerly malnourished rescue dog named Ethan. Mutty Paws Rescue is working hard to save Khaleesi. Every day she has small improvements, but she still has a long way to go. Luckily, she has the support of dog lovers around the world. Plus, the people responsible have been arrested, so she’s also getting justice. Facebook Khaleesi Keeps Fighting Ashley Howard allegedly abandoned Khaleesi in Lehigh Acres, Florida after only spending five months with her. Animal rescuers rushed Khaleesi to the ICU, unsure if she would survive. At the time, they thought she was a senior dog because of her appearance, but she seems to…Read More
When Fayette County Sheriffs raided a puppy mill in Georgia in 2021, they turned all the recovered animals over to the Fayette County Animal Shelter. Among those survivors was an American Bully dog, who a local family alleges actually belongs to them. The family’s dog Porkchop had been missing for months, and they were shocked to see a picture of her coming from the animal shelter’s Facebook page. Hoping to prevent Porkchop from being adopted out to someone else, they immediately contacted FCAS. Screenshot, CBS 46 Unfortunately, the matter would be a little more complicated than just picking up the dog and going home. Jewell Andrews, who claims to be Porkchop’s rightful parent, described the situation to CBS 46: “That dog went everywhere with us, our kids love the dog, she’s part of the family. We appreciate [the sheriff and shelter] for getting those dogs out of the situation. I…Read More
If you’ve ever hesitated for even a moment about microchipping your dog, this story may make you change your tune. This month, the information on a dog’s chip scanned in Fort Wayne, Indiana, led a surrendered pup home to his rightful person… 1000 miles away. Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control took in Capone after his current owners surrendered him. They had recently relocated to Indiana from Florida. Facebook Fortunately for Capone, the shelter always checks their intakes for microchips. Holly Pasquinelli, community relations and education specialist at FWACC, told WANE: “Just like we do for all of the animals, we checked for a microchip. Often we find that the microchip goes back to a previous owner or, you know, maybe he was found somewhere and has been rehomed since. So we always do that as a safeguard.” That essential step turned out to be extremely important for Capone’s future.…Read More

Big dogs, small dogs, lazy dogs, energetic dogs – dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and energy levels. This means that all dogs have different eating needs, which can make it tough to figure out a feeding schedule and the type of food that is best for your pet. Paul Wilkie left the Armed Forces after 22 years to return home to Perth, Scotland in 2012. He got a new job in law enforcement and reunited with his wife, but things soon took a turn for the worse. Facebook PTSD Took A Huge Toll On Wilkie’s Life In a deeply personal and moving essay for Metro, Wilkie explained how a car accident that October triggered his PTSD: “That one accident unlocked decades of memories I’d buried; the horrors of war, of seeing friends blown up into the pink mist, of being held at gunpoint. I was having vivid nightmares, and flashbacks throughout the day – I was constantly on the edge of…Read More
For some dogs, getting a human sibling is thrilling. Yet, others experience more jealousy. Either way, dogs want to make sure they’re still the center of attention, and they’ll do anything to get the spotlight. A French Bulldog mix named Doobie wanted to make sure all eyes were on him even before the baby arrived. During his parents’ gender reveal party, he caused some complications, which postponed the anticipated news. But did the pup do it out of excitement or spite? Only Doobie has the answer. YouTube Gender Reveal Gone Wrong Marie del Rosario and Jasa Grant, who are from Winnipeg, Manitoba, hosted a party to reveal the sex of their baby. They had a giant balloon that was filled with either pink or blue confetti. They wanted Doobie to do the honors, and they filmed a video of the precious moment. However, the event didn’t go as planned. The…Read More
